Born in Vienna 1941.
In 1964 he completed his quitar studies with Luise Walker at Vienna Academy of Music with distinction. In 1961, 1963 and 1965, he attended master classes of Andrés Segovia in Santiago de Compostela. He also received private tuition from Narciso Yepes.
In 1964 at today's University of Art, Graz he took over a class for guitar, becoming Assistant Director between the years 1980-1988.
In 1968 he won the 1st International Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Italy. His international concert career includes recitals, solo performances with renowned orchestras and participation as a chamber musician with outstanding ensembles in numerous European, Asian and American venues. His wide-ranging artistic work is documented in many recordings for radio and television as well as for prestigious record labels.He is also editor of music publications and the author of various specialist articles and of the book
Cantabile e ritmico. On the Art of Guitar Playing (Doblinger, Vienna 2003).
